Fixed a bug in sessionGUI.py that caused it to default to a spectrometer mode of 'XXXYYXYY' if a mode wasn't explicitly specified. Added support for a preferences file to store observer and project information.

Added an experimental PSRFITS writer, writePsrfits2.py, with it's associated dependencies. This new script should be significantly faster than the orginal script.

Added a few lines to clear out the check box state on New/Load so that stale checks don't interfere with the actions. Added *.sdf to the list of SDF file extensions.
